This school assignment focusing on Editorial Layouts for the GoodWeekend magazine. We were given a subject and the whole texts to design: Hong Kong, Table by Table.
I started from the thumbnails drawing. It is very important lesson I learnt in RMIT and the research about Chip Kidd. Begin your ideas with paper and pen rather than go for the software immediately.
And here, 7-column grid applied on all of the designs. For the opening spread, I chose the image with two tables that echoed the "O"s in the heading.
The second concept here, I attempted to make a contrast between a busy street view with the clean, simple contents.
